The Desafío en las Nubes is a riveting race taking you through a unique blend of tropical flora and towering, mist-shrouded mountain ranges.
The course unfolds along a blend of winding trails, from thick, verdant rainforests to rocky, mountainous landscapes. Runners will discover hidden waterfalls, cross gleaming streams, and tackle challenging elevation changes from 1000m to 4000m. Along the route, the majestic peaks of the Sierra Norte range loom in the background, their peaks shrouded in a perpetual cloud cover that gives the race its name.
This race holds a special significance in the local community, tying together the history and culture of Xicotepec. Originating from the indigenous Nahuatl language, Xicotepec means “among the mountains,” a name that encapsulates the essence of this race.
The Desafío En Las Nubes offers four distance options: 15k, 25k, 43k, and 58k.
