Arrive in Venice, where we will either pick you up at the airport or meet you at a pre-arranged spot for transfer to Slovenia. Our destination is the idyllic karst region of Slovenia, which borders Italy and produces nearly all of the country’s celebrated wine. Spend the evening relaxing at the 300 year old farmhouse that we will call home for the night, and getting acquainted with local cuisine as you enjoy one of the best dining experiences in the country.
No running. Dinner (D) included

After a good night of sleep and coffee we'll head out for a relaxed morning run which begins a castle, heads through picturesque forest, farm land and endlessly rolling vineyards and eventually finishes back at our farmhouse where a hearty breakfast full of local specialties awaits. Afterward, shower and pack up - it's time to head to Bovec, a beautiful village nestled at the foot of the Julian Alps in the famed Soca River Valley.
Running: Up to 8 miles, dirt road and pavement
Meals: BLD included

Wake up at the foot of the Alps for coffee with a view... then lace up your shoes! Today's run begins at the source of the Soca River and follows this incomprehensibly blue river by way of historical footpaths and magical forest trails. This run is quite technical, but the views make it all worth it - take your time, and bring a camera! After a picnic lunch and a dip – err, icebath – in the river, there will be time to explore the area further: raft the Soca, learn about the major role that this area played in WW1. Later, enjoy spectacular views, food and recovery time at our guesthouse.
Running: Up to 12 miles, singletrack trail
Meals: BLD

After a big breakfast it'll be time to say goodbye to Bovec and hello to Croatia! The mid-morning trail run begins in Slovenia and ends in Croatia with great views of Adriatic Sea along the way. Afterward we head to the romantic port town of Rovinj where you'll be free to wander and soak in the view with a glass of wine at the waterfront.
Up to 7 miles, singletrack trail
Meals: BLD included

Rest day! Sleep in, then enjoy a relaxed breakfast. We’ll then head to Island Cres, where a stunningly restored farmhouse - home for the next two nights! - awaits. Our hostess is a professionally trained chef who will both show you around the expansive Mediterranean gardens and ensure that you are well-fueled for your upcoming long run.
No scheduled run. BLD included

Get ready – today is the big run! Those who run the full route will cover nearly the full length of the island via both trail and road, featuring sweeping views of the crystal clear Adriatic Sea and picture-perfect ancient villages. Finish at the farmhouse with a locally-sourced gourmet lunch and an afternoon recovering on a boat in the Adriatic.
Up to 19 miles, technical trail and some pavement
Meals: BLD included

After an optional morning recovery run on the island, we'll head back to Ljubljana where you’ll have the remainder of the day to explore on your own: sample gelato, sit at a cafe, visit museums, or simple wander around and soak it all in.
Running: Up to 8 miles, pavement
Meals: BLD included

Today’s run at Lake Bohinj is part trail along an amazing river gorge and part cruise around this pristine alpine lake. Light snacks and time to swim will follow, then we will head to Lake Bled for a chance to check out Slovenia’s best-known (and most photographed) spot. Our grand finale of a dinner will be held near Ljubljana – make sure that you come hungry and ready for a legendary farm-to-table dining experience! Many hours later we will go to our hotel in Ljubljana, where you are free to go out (or just pass out).
Running: Up to 9 miles, technical trail, dirt path and pavement
Meals: BLD included

Time to say goodbye! Enjoy a final big breakfast before heading to the airport in Venice or connecting to additional travel.
