From bogs to exhilarating climbs with panoramic views, every day was different, expertly organised and calmly executed. We scrambled our way to the top of the highest mountain, legged it along the cliffs, and jogged it out along the beach.
Local guides entertained and educated us in folk lore and facts. Cultural challenges kept our brains fresh, even if our feet were definitely not! The food experiences were perfectly balanced: we took afternoon tea, freshly baked scones, cream and jam at the farm, devoured delicious traditional wholesome Irish food in the local pub and (my favourite) tasted local fresh sea catch at harbour restaurants. Much of the food was washed down with Guinness and a little whiskey to end the trip for those that partake :-)

ENDURANCE ADVENTURE: IRELAND

No, it’s not a race.

Endurance Adventure: Ireland is a multi-day running adventure in which you will be pushed by mileage, challenged by terrain, immersed in local ways and enchanted by a legendary country that truly is everything you've imagined it to be.

Test your endurance as you cover over 70 mi / 110km in 6 days on the wild, rugged and beautiful west coast of Ireland. You’ll run along stunning seaside cliffs, over untouched bog lands and up some of Ireland’s biggest mountains facing whatever weather the Atlantic Ocean brings in. Go the extra mile to find amazing sights on trails where normally only the most intrepid sheep venture!

Learn the lore of the land as you travel through the regions of Connemara, Clare and Kerry, where traditions run deep and where music, sport and agriculture bind communities together. And, be ready to participate - we're doing more than just passing through.

Go hard every day knowing a hearty Irish meal and unrivalled local hospitality awaits you at the end of each day. Those searching for a restorative pint of Guinness won’t be found wanting; all the better to get your strength up and go big again the next day!

Ability requirements: An ultra-running background is not required, but strong endurance abilities, some trail experience and a sense of adventure is a must! Participants should arrive prepared to cover the full distance each day (and yes, hiking is totally fine).
